Never waking from this dream like fever
Torn from the heavens with such radiant eyes
We call upon the moon, the endless tide
(Prayers for the void into the gray
Mourning the monochrome earth, we've made)
The bloom of promise, the thorns that shroud
Soil in my hands, gripping the ground
Beyond the shade, the shade that shuts the eyes
Splendor's an illusion, burning the mind
Parading in your shell, fragile nest of lies
The masquerade of who you are, and what you're not
What you're not inside
A breath before the words of loss, and with venomous pride
Resonant the tragedy, of grieving echoes deprived
(And when the cold winds called, they beheld your name
We ignite the sky as once vagrant flames)
If the earth is an open wound mother let me grieve
Salt of my blood, shared with the sea
The bloom of promise, the thorns that shroud
Soil in my hands, gripping the ground
Beyond the shade, the shade that shuts the eyes
Splendor's an illusion, burning the mind
The "Cult..." is UADA's sophomore album, and among all, the one I largely prefer. The Vocal performance, to start with, is truly outstanding, and while I really liked their debut album, this one is more varied, and overall is technically superior to anything else I've heard from UADA. Fast, aggressive, but with enchanting melodies to break in between, à la Dissection. Highly recommended! sachavonkarl74
